In the Morning

By:Sarah Wood

In the mornings I feel so close to you

Hold hands, kiss the cheeks, are your actions so true?

Remember good times, laugh about the past

Rarely a day goes by when we don't have a blast

Pull me to you, strong hand around the waist

Do you know of the sadness with which I am constantly faced?

So much contact, an "I love you" in a whisper

Makes my mind the much less crisper

What do you want? Am I just here for physical pleasures?

I so wish at the end of the tunnel I could find treasures

All I want is your love, your undying word

But I find my vision so abstractly blurred

After we separate for the morning, the day just becomes plain

You almost ignore me from there on out, creating much disdain

At the end of the day I see you once more

Still together, but with a closed door

Barely a departing gesture, but I will remember you always

In the morning where we dwell as in old days.
